We're helping Aussie kids who would otherwise go hungry!
Wonder has donated over 2 million sandwiches to Eat Up, a charity that delivers more than 20,000 lunches weekly directly to schools for children who might otherwise go without.
As we celebrate our 30th Birthday, we've teamed up with Eat Up to give back and make 30,000 sandwiches for kids in need.
Who are Eat Up?
With the help of their partners and dedicated volunteers, each week Eat Up makes and delivers over 20,000 lunches directly to schools for vulnerable children. To date they have provided over 3 million lunches to Aussie kids in need!
1 in 5 Australian students at the schools Eat Up support need an Eat Up lunch.*
How are we making the 30,000 sandwiches?
We've teamed up with schools in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth to host sandwich making sessions to make lunches for kids in need.
A big thank you to the students across the country who have helped out, with each school making 1,000 sandwiches per session.
How does an Eat Up sandwich making session work?
Eat Up travel to the schools with all the ingredients and equipment, and their trained facilitators guide the kids in teams to make sandwiches. The sessions are always high-energy, full of smiles and lots of fun!
Students use Wonder bread, spreads and cheese to make sandwiches, to then be wrapped and stacked for delivery.
Where do the Eat Up sandwiches get donated?
Eat Up provides sandwiches to disadvantaged children nationally who arrive at school without lunch. They support students at 750+ schools in both metro and regional areas around the country with the support of volunteers, funders and in-kind supporters.
